Purpose and Objectives:
Equality Funds exist to be a catalyst for equality in the workplace. We strive to create both financial and social value for all of our stakeholders and work to promote a world where everyone has equal opportunity in the workplace. We endeavor to move business to the next level, where profit and positive contribution to the welfare of the community are one and the same.
Equality Funds Solution- This strategy focuses on a unique market niche within the domain of socially responsible investments (SRI). The niche focus is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community (LGBTQ).
These policies include:
- Anti-discrimination against the LGBT community with regard to hiring practices, same sex partner benefits, community outreach (involvement in Gay Pride, supporting gay-straight alliances, scholarships for LGBT youth).
- Screening methodology derived from Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) scores.
Only companies with HRC CEI scores of 85 or higher are eligible for inclusion.
Our screening criteria will evolve over time by involving our investors in determining “what makes a LGBT-friendly company?”
